West Sabine has been named a 2023-2024 National Beta School of Distinction. The school earned this recognition by increasing their club’s membership by at least 10% from last year.
National Beta School of Distinction is an honor for Beta clubs striving towards academic achievement, exemplary character, demonstrated leadership and service to others. With an ongoing quest to instill these qualities in more students, the National Beta School of Distinction Award is designed to reward those schools that show an increase in membership for the current school year. This year, only 22% of Beta Clubs across the country received this award.
In a congratulatory letter to the school, Bobby Hart, CEO said “This national award speaks highly of your commitment to academic excellence and illustrates your dedication to preparing students for their future.”
Award recipients will receive a National Beta School of Distinction banner to proudly display as a symbol of their accomplishment.

All West Sabine Administrative Offices and functions are closed for the week. We will resume on July 8, 2024. Have a Great Week & Happy Independence Day!
Tonight, the Board of Trustees & Superintendent reviewed plans to renovate restroom pods at West Sabine Elementary. These renovations will preserve the space already on campus to triple the restroom availability for staff and update the conditions for the student population.
Also, WSISD awarded the bid for the Track Resurfacing and Turf Renovation Project to Tarkett Sports/FieldTurf.
EOC Scores should be ready on June 7, 2024. STAAR Scores will be ready on June 14, 2024. Please see the following attachments regarding your scores.

It’s time for all our RETURNING Tigers to register for the 2024-2025 school year. You must have a Parent Portal Account in order to register. As a reminder, your child’s current grade level will show during the registration process until our systems roll to the next year. We have encountered some tornadic forced winds at our High School campus within the last hour. We have downed trees and power lines around that campus.
Everyone is okay and there is no damage to the campus. We plan to feed the kids and THEN MAKE A DISTRICT CALL regarding both campuses. If you would like to pick your kids up, we are prepared to get them to you.
WE STILL HAVE LIGHTS AT THE ELEMENTARY.

Good Evening Tiger Family,
Whether you find this post tonight or in the morning, we are actively monitoring the ongoings around the district involving the latest weather system. We have been made aware that there are many without lights tonight. We are praying for your safety and comfort tonight.
As for now, the district will still open at regular time. Our goal is to get those who are able to make it here safely a hot meal and any other amenities they may need. Please practice safety. If you see water, please don't try to cross. If WSISD may be of any assistance, please contact one of the offices, and we will do our very best to assist any of our families.
We are less than two weeks away from our annual Health & Wellness Night. We will provide a free bowl of our famous vegetable soup, we have 30 available free resources, we have several great door prizes sponsored by local businesses and community members, and anyone in Sabine County can attend. Mark your calendars now and bring your family and friends. You don't want to miss this!

School will begin at regular time today, April 10, 2024. We have checked roads, waterways, etc and drainage seems to be in working order. Debris has been cleaned and roadways into the district are clear. Buses will run at regular time.
