ESSER III

ARP ESSER III Overview: The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, Public Law 117-2, was enacted on March 11, 2021. The ARP Act provides additional funding for school districts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Education portion of ARP is known as the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III or ARP ESSER) Fund.

General grant specifics are as follows:

  • Grant Timeframe: Grant expires September 30, 2023. If needed, districts can carry over unused funds and be allowed to continue spending until September 30, 2024.

  • Districts will be required to follow all federal, state, and local regulations and requirements for federal grant administration and fiscal spending of funds.

  • West Sabine ISD has been allocated $1,310,201 (estimate) - to be expended over a 3-year period.

The West Sabine ISD Return to In-Person Instruction & Continuity of Services Plan (RIPICS) was developed in consultation with stakeholders after soliciting public comment via electronic survey, small group meetings, and public board meetings. This original plan was reviewed with stakeholders, then updated and posted to the this website on January 20, 2022. Every six months, West Sabine ISD will review the plan in accordance with the latest guidance from the CDC, state, and local governments. If revisions are needed to the plan, public input will be solicited and stakeholders will be meaningfully consulted. The revised version of the plan will then be posted on this website below. ESSER II

The American Rescue Plan (CRRSA) Act of 2021, Public Law 117-2, was enacted on March 11, 2021. The CRRSA Act provides additional funding for school districts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Education portion of CRRSA is known as the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II or CRRSA ESSER) Fund. 

The intent and purpose of the CRRSA Act of 2021,ESSER II funding is to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including its impact on the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of students.  The allocation amount for West Sabine ISD is approximately $583,386.00

ESSA

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) is a United States federal statute originally enacted in 1965. These federal funds are authorized for professional development, instructional materials, and resources to support educational programs, and parental involvement programs. The current reauthorization of ESEA is the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

West Sabine ISD receives funding for the following entitlement programs within the Elementary and Secondary Education Act:

  • Title I, Part A

  • Title II, Part A

  • Title III, Part A

  • Title IV, Part A
